My faith is…
My faith is the driving force in my life. It’s what compels me to persevere through life’s challenges and brings me hope for the future. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ brings purpose and meaning to my life as I aspire to do great things for His Kingdom.
“If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” – John 14:14
How do I deal with worries and doubts?
All my worries and doubts I have given over to the Lord Jesus. However, any of these same worries or doubts can come back at anytime. Once I recognize that these have already been dealt with, I immediately take them to Jesus and thank Him for His will to be done and praise Him!
How do I deal with the issue of pride?
My heart is filled with pride in knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the rock of my life. My life is being a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ in all things.
How do you respond to fear?
When fear enters my life I turn to God for strength. Through the years I have come to accept that there are some things in this world we have control over and many things we do not. I put my trust in God by surrendering my fear and trusting that he will guide me toward what he has planned. At times it can be hard to give up the desire for control but maybe fear is a personal reminder from God that we need to forever trust in him and always have faith in his greater plan for us.
How I cope with the changes in my life during these difficult times…
There have been major changes in my life these last few years, the economy has taken its toll on my Finances , struggles in my relationship with my wife, health problems, and more problems and crises with family. If I did not have a close relationship with Jesus these struggles would be catastrophic and I truly belief I would not be able to cope with them. The only way I can cope with these changes is by giving all my burdens to Jesus in prayer. Knowing and trusting that everything that happens to me then works out for good.
In Romans 8:28 it says, "We Know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
When I hand all my burdens over to the Lord, my anxieties, worries, and fears all disappear. The problems may still be there, but I can make it through the day with a peace I would not have otherwise. And then with a calm reassurance that the Lord Jesus is with me I can tackle these problems knowing that in his time and place they will all work out for not only my good but for the good of His kingdom.
How do you feel about the Lord Jesus Christ?
I like him a lot!
— Sean (age 7)
I just really miss him when he is in heaven.
What gives me hope?
My morning talks with the Lord; I tell Him my worries, fears, concerns, problems, my hopes and my dreams for me and my loved ones. Then one by one I see his answers.
I feel Hopeful when I can speak to someone my age and share the Love of God.
What is Joy?
Joy is often perceived to be the same as happiness. However, joy in the Lord is so much more than feeling happy or being in state of happiness. Happiness is usually the way we feel in response to something positive that is “happening” in our lives. This is not the same as joy. Joy in the Lord becomes a part of you even in the midst of sorrow and strife. How can this be? How can we have Joy in the Lord when we are facing difficult circumstances?
Joy is a gift given from the Holy Spirit and realized with a closer relationship with the Lord. The Lord is overflowing with love and joy. The closer we grow to Him, the more His joy becomes a part of us. The joy we receive in the Lord will not be taken away from us by circumstances or sorrow.
In the passage below, Jesus speaks with his disciples about the time coming where he will be leaving this world. Here he shares with them that even though they will be grieving, he will return and thus fill them with joy…
"…Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." – John 16:22
What is true love?
There is no love greater than the unconditional, free-flowing and eternal love bestowed upon us by the Lord.
So often we cannot believe in the truth, the undeniable heart-felt truth that this love is given to us freely and abundantly by the Lord Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Our minds are filled with doubts as we ask ourselves…
"Who are we to deserve this love in the purest form?"
"What have we done to earn this great gift?"
"How could the Lord love a sinner like me?"
Do you find yourself asking these questions? Do these doubts and feelings of inadequacy prevent you from embracing Jesus and the love he so desperately wants to share with you? Then know this….the Bible tells us that there is nothing, (yes, NOTHING) we can do that will separate us from the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. How great and majestic is His love that nothing can take it away from us!!
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation , will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." – Romans 8:38–39
The love of the Lord is given to you freely and abundantly. There is no greater love than this. Rejoice in this knowledge!
What motivates my life?
The answer to that question is one word: GOD
To put this in perspective, one has to realize that God is simply amazing. HE has created each of us to be unique and with special blessings that we need to share with others.
When one realizes the following truths they will undoubtedly be happier, filled with joy and live a life of abundant blessings that God intended for each of us:
- God is our friend.
- "We are God’s Masterpiece." – Ephesians 2:10
- God has a sense of humor.
- God has blessed us so that we can bless others so that they find God.
- The better you know God, the better you will know yourself.
- "It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for." – Ephesians 1:11
Clearly, I am self-motivated to do what is right for my family and the occupation that I spend an enormous amount doing. I also realize that this self motivating quality comes as a gift from God along with other blessings that I need to continual share to bring out the best in everyone.
As I get to know God through readings, CD’s and church, I realize how significant it was that HE died on the cross for each of us so we could spend Eternity with him. If that is not motivation … What is?
